The 2nd Findfun Shintomi Kids Enjoy DAY was held over two days, on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.
This event was organized as part of an initiative based on the partnership agreement between Shintomi Town and S.C.P. Japan. Its aim is to create inclusive opportunities where everyone can enjoy sport and play together, regardless of disability, gender, or age.
Following the first edition held last year, this year’s event featured three programs: a visit to a special support school, a physical activity program for children, and a new sport experience program open to the wider community, including adults.
Throughout the two days, participants encouraged one another, worked together, and shared the joy of moving their bodies. The event became a meaningful opportunity to experience the power of sport to connect people and to feel the warmth of the Shintomi community.
Day 1: Friday, June 5
Visit Program at Rupinasu Special Needs School
On the first day, the team visited Rupinasu Special needs School and enjoyed physical play and football together with students from the elementary department.
Yuma Saito, a football player who also serves as a board member of S.C.P. Japan and previously played for ViaMatsuras Miyazaki, also joined the program. The visit became a joyful opportunity for interaction with staff members who continue to support Saito, as well as children who warmly welcomed the visit from a football player.
The program included fun game so that the children could move their bodies with confidence and peace of mind. At the end of the session, everyone also played football together. Even within a short period of time, the children were able to experience the joy of chasing the ball and playing alongside their friends.
The children’s enthusiasm to try new things and their smiles when they achieved something made it a meaningful time in which hearts naturally connected through sport.
Day 2 Morning: Saturday, June 6
Children’s Program
On the morning of the second day, a physical activity program for children was held.
A total of 35 children participated, regardless of gender or disability. At the venue, they enjoyed a variety of physical activities that involved running, throwing, cooperating, and moving their bodies freely.
Some children appeared a little nervous at first, but as the program progressed, they gradually opened up and were soon seen playing wholeheartedly while encouraging one another. Through sport and play, each child was able to enjoy the experience in their own way, moving, laughing, and working up a sweat.
The venue was filled with the energetic voices and smiles of children as they enjoyed spending time together in the same space, regardless of disability or whether they felt confident in physical activity.
Day 2 Afternoon: Saturday, June 6
New-Sport Experience for the Whole Community
In the afternoon of the second day, a new-sport experience program was held, allowing not only children but also adults to take part together.
A total of 34 people participated in the afternoon program, experiencing new-sport activities such as Flocker, Boccia, Kin-Ball, and Dodgebee, all of which can be enjoyed regardless of age or athletic experience.
The appeal of new sport lies not only in winning or losing, but also in thinking creatively, communicating with others, and cooperating as a team. At the venue, children and adults played together, and it was especially memorable to see people meeting for the first time naturally begin conversations and enjoy the activities together.
Some children joined continuously from the morning program, while others participated with their families, creating a warm atmosphere where different generations could interact. Through sport, connections were built among local community members, resulting in a program filled with the welcoming spirit of Shintomi Town.
Comment from Yuma Saito
Football Player / Board Member of S.C.P. Japan
I am very happy that I was able to spend these two days moving my body and enjoying sport and play together with so many people.
At Rupinasu Special Needs School, the children welcomed us with smiles, and I was able to share a wonderful time with them through physical play and football. It was also a very warm and meaningful moment to reunite with staff members who have continued to support me over the years.
During the second day’s programs, I was deeply impressed by the children enjoying themselves naturally while communicating with one another, regardless of gender or disability, as well as by the sight of adults taking part in new-sport activities together. I was once again reminded of the power of sport to connect people and create smiles.
I am sincerely grateful that we were able to hold this event again in Shintomi Town this year, and that we could create such a warm and meaningful time together with everyone in the community.
Closing
The 2nd Findfun Shintomi Kids Enjoy DAY created opportunities for everyone to enjoy sport together, regardless of disability, age, or gender, through a school visit, a physical activity program for children, and a new sport experience for the wider community.
The smiles created through sport and play, the natural encouragement shared among participants, and the sight of people challenging themselves and cooperating with one another all represented an important step toward building a more inclusive community.
