S.C.P. Japanでは、2020年の設立当初より「セーフガーディング」の取り組みに力を入れ、あらゆるスポーツ現場で一人ひとりの人権が守られることを目指し、セーフガーディング研修の実施や実際にチーム・スポーツ教室を運営する運動共育事業などに取り組んできました。しかしながら、「セーフガーディング」は日本ではまだまだ馴染みのない概念です。今回、そのセーフガーディングについて、日本財団ジャーナルさんに記事として取り上げていただき、私たちの活動とともに発信していただけたことを大変光栄に思っております。
取材では、スポーツの現場に潜む子どもへの虐待やハラスメントのリスク、子どもの安心安全や人権を守る「セーフガーディング」とは何か、そして、すべての子どもたちが安心してスポーツを楽しむために私たちができることなどについて、代表理事・井上由唯子（いのうえ・ゆいこ）、プロジェクトスタッフ・川合みなみ（かわい・みなみ）がお話しさせていただきました。
この記事をきっかけに、スポーツ現場における子どもの安心安全な環境づくりの重要性がより多くの方に認知され、指導のあり方や組織の改善につながることを願っております。S.C.P. Japanはこれからも「セーフガーディング」の普及に取り組み、すべての子どもがスポーツを楽しみ、スポーツを通じて成長できる安心安全な環境づくりを推進してまいります。

Since its establishment in 2020, S.C.P. Japan has prioritized “safeguarding” in its efforts, aiming to protect the human rights of every individual involved in sport settings. We have been actively conducting safeguarding training and running practical initiatives such as sport education programs that directly manage teams and sports classes. However, the concept of “safeguarding” is still relatively unfamiliar in Japan.
We are honored that The Nippon Foundation Journal chose to feature this important topic, helping to shed light on what safeguarding means and to share our initiatives with a broader audience.
In the interview, our Representative Director Yuiko Inoue and Project Staff Minami Kawai discussed key issues such as the risks of abuse and harassment faced by children in sport environments, what safeguarding entails, and what we can do to ensure that all children can safely enjoy sport.
We hope this article will help raise awareness of the importance of creating safe and secure environments for children in sport, inspire improvements in coaching practices and organizational structures, and contribute to wider societal change.
S.C.P. Japan will continue to promote safeguarding, working toward a future where all children can enjoy sport safely and grow through their experiences.
